Acquire heraldic elements and use them to design your shield by placing them on the board, and earn distinctions through careful choices. Who has the most prestigious blazon?
Objective
At Blazon, players try to formally describe a blazon with heraldic symbols by placing these elements on their shields. The more valuable the card of an element, the more prestige points there are for it. In addition, players can receive distinctions for certain combinations and thus additional points. The player with the most prestige points at the end of the game wins.
Mechanism
At their turn, players either take cards from a display or place one or more hand cards on a space on their shield. Each hand card played must be paid with additional hand cards – according to the value of the card played. For each card played, the player receives prestige points equal to their card value. If the cards placed result in certain combinations (distinctions), players will receive even more prestige points. The first card played in a row specifies the card types (heraldic elements) of the remaining row, which makes placing cards more difficult.
